Implementation Log: US-01 Schema-Focused Story
Feature: US-01 Agree API Schema
Summary
US-01 remains centered on the agreed GraphQL contract for the upload flow, plus a consumer-facing API reference for that contract. Draft ADRs and initial PHP scaffolding may exist on the branch, but they are supporting artifacts for later implementation rather than the accepted API contract itself.
Implementation Details
- Kept the GraphQL SDL as the authoritative contract for the upload flow:
asset, startUpload, completeUpload,Asset, upload-target metadata, and status enums remain the scope of the story. - Added a concise developer-facing API page so consumers can work from the agreed contract without reading implementation notes.
- Explicitly documented that
assetis an authenticated, account-scoped lookup so the contract does not imply unauthenticated access byassetIdalone. - Kept ADR-03 and the initial scaffolding as draft implementation guidance, while documenting that the schema remains the source of truth for US-01.
Files Changed
src/GraphQL/Schema/schema.graphql— defines the agreed GraphQL upload and asset-status contract.docs/api/01-agree-api-schema.md— documents the contract for API consumers.mkdocs.yml— publishes the API page under a new top-level API section while keeping the implementation log visible.docs/logs/01-agree-api-schema.md— records the story scope after cleanup.docs/adr/03-domain-first-idempotent-upload.md— retained as forward-looking architecture guidance for later implementation.
Validation
- Documentation updated to match the current GraphQL schema in
src/GraphQL/Schema/schema.graphql.
Delivery Chunks
- Schema agreement — kept the GraphQL upload and asset-status surface as the durable contract.
- Consumer documentation — published a concise API reference page for the agreed schema.
- Story cleanup — aligned the implementation log, published docs, and remaining files with the contract-only scope.
Follow-up
- Implement the contract in follow-up stories without widening the API surface unless the contract is explicitly revised.
